Question

How do you stop and start IBM Rational License Key Server on UNIX and Linux systems?

Cause

You would need to start or stop the Rational License Key Server when configuring licenses

Answer

You can use one of the following methods to stop (check-in) or start (checked out) Rational License Key Server:

Method 1: Using Graphical User Interface (GUI)

In order to stop Rational License Key Server apply the following:

  1. Navigate to Applications > IBM Rational License Key Server

  2. Launch License Server

  3. Select Stop License Server

To start Rational License Key Server apply the following:
  1. Navigate to Applications > IBM Rational License Key Server

  2. Launch License Server

  3. Select Start License Server


Method 2: Using Command Line Terminal
  1. Launch Command Line Terminal

  2. Navigate to the Installation directory .../IBM/RationalRLKS/config

  3. To stop Rational License Key Server run the following command:

    ./start_lmgrd stop

  4. To start Rational License Key Server run the following command:

    ./start_lmgrd start
