How to start RabbitMQ when it crashes due to insufficient space.

Troubleshooting


Problem

RabbitMQ service may crash when there is no sufficient space on the management system. This service may not start even after freeing up the space on managment system.

Symptom

All PowerVC functionality will fail.

Cause

RabbitMQ service fails to start because of corrupted recovery.dets file.

Diagnosing The Problem

The file /var/lib/rabbitmq/mnesia/rabbit@host-name/recovery.dets size should not be 0.

Resolving The Problem

Remove the file /var/lib/rabbitmq/mnesia/rabbit@host-name/recovery.dets if the size is 0 and restart RabbitMQ by running 'systemctl start rabbitmq-server.service' command.
