How to start the JConsole WebLogic utility to check MBeans data.

How To

Summary

To check the MBeans connection data in WebLogic app servers, you may at times want to use the JConsole utility or generic JMX client. JConsole is usually shipped with your JDK, so it doesn't require any extra downloads.

Environment

Windows
Linux

Steps

1) The first step is to verify you have the JConsole utility.  Its usually located in the ..\jdk\bin dir.  See this example from my test system:

2) Simply find the JConsole utility and start it as shown above. You will get a small pop-up window.  Choose Local and hit Continue.  If you get a ConnectionSSL Failed message, hit Insecure and Continue.  You will then get this screen.  Simply click on the MBeans tab and you can see the data.
