How do you shutdown the IBM Rational License Server when performing the lmdown command?
Cause
You will need to shutdown the IBM Rational License Server from the command line for better license server management on UNIX environment.
Answer
The lmdown command, is used to stop the license daemons on the license server or on all three server when using a redundant server configuration. (lmgrd and rational).
Below are some lmdown command options that can be used:
| Option | Definition |
| -c | Used to specify the full path to the license file |
| -vendor | Used to only stop the vendor daemon |
| -q | Used to turn off prompts |
| -all | Used to stop the processes on all servers in a redundant server configuration |
Command usage example:
lmdown -c /<path to license file>/rational.dat -vendor rational -q -all
