Preventive Service Planning
Abstract
I've called IBM Software Support (see Related information below) to receive the ImagePlus Workstation Program (IWPM) for Windows 7 installation code and am wondering if there's anything special I should configure inside Windows 7 in order to support the execution of IWPM?

In order to run ImagePlus Workstation Program (IWPM), you will need to set your Windows 7 system to run in only one processor. The way you do this is via MSConfig (Microsoft's System Configuration in Windows 7). The steps are below:
Setting the Windows 7 system to run with one processor:
1. Logon to Windows using a member of the Administrators group.
2. Click Start, click All Programs, and then click Accessories.
3. Right click Command prompt and then click Run as administrator.
4. If the User Account Control dialog box appears, confirm that the action it displays is what you want, and then click Continue.
5. Run the command msconfig. Click on the "Boot" tab and you will see:
6. Click on Advanced options... Then click on the checkmark next to "Number of processors" and choose 1 processor, as shown below:
7. Click on OK, and then Apply to save your changes.
8. Reboot the system.
This setting will stay in effect until changed.
To confirm that only one processor is being used:
Observe the performance monitor/CPU usage in WindowsTask Manager. Click on the "Performance" tab and look in the "CPU Usage History". The following section in red shows 4 CPUs are working. You should only show one CPU working.

If you have any questions about the information above, please contact IBM software support for further assistance.
