Problem(Abstract)

When using WebSphere CommerceDeveloper with a Cloudscapedevelopmentdatabase you would like to set up a database client using Rational Application Developer.

Resolving the problem

Follow the steps to set up the database client using the Rational Application Developer:

  1. Open Rational Application Developer toolkit environment where commerce is installed
  2. Click Windows then select Open perspectives. In "Other..." click Database Development
  3. Click Windows then select "Show View" and open "Data Source Explorer"
  4. Under Data Source Explorer right click Database connections and click New
In Select a database manager select Derby. For the JDBC driver select Birt Sampledb Derby Embedded Driver. For database location enter the location of the Cloudscape database. For example D:\IBM\WCDE_INT70\db\mall.
  5. Click Finish. You should now be able to explore the commerce database when using the Database Development prospective:

Note: To connect to this database you must stop the WebSphere Commerce Server. Only one connection is allowed to CloudscapedevelopmentDerby database.
