Summary

iBase Search 360 can be used to search for exact matches plus variants, within structured and unstructured information. Results are prioritized according to the context of the search, which can be across multiple record types. The tools that are used to create the search index are only compatible with Microsoft Windows machines, so for databases stored in Linux machines, these tools, must be run remotely.

Objective

To set up a search 360 index for a database stored in SQL Server on Linux.

Steps

  1. Set up your database on a remote instance of SqL Server on Linux.
  2. In iBase Designer, enable Search 360.
  3. On a Windows machine, that has network access to your database:
    1. Install iBase (include the Server feature to ensure the Search Indexing tools are included).
    2. Open a command prompt and run the Search indexer:
      "C:\Program Files (x86)\i2 iBase 9\i2.iBase.SearchIndexerExe.exe" /iBaseDBName "<database name>" /ServerName "<server url or IP>" /UserName "<username>" /Password "<password>" /FullReindex /ShowSummary
      Note: You can also set up a Windows scheduled task to run the indexer regularly
  4. Open iBase User, and confirm Search 360 is working.
