How to set up Eclipse v4.3.1 on my Workstation if I have Java 8

Problem

As stated in the Maximo76_Designer431 Development Guide, a version of Java 7 is required to utilize Eclipse v4.3.1.  Users may encounter issues as their workstations will likely have Java 8 installed.  Eclipse v4.3.1 will not function correctly with Java 8.

Symptom

Attempting to use Java 8 with this version of Eclipse will result in the following error, when trying to preview any report:

HTTP ERROR: 500

Problem accessing /viewer/parameter. Reason:

    Server Error
