How to set a default row limit when running DataStage jobs from Director

Question & Answer

Question

How can I set a default row limit for all jobs run from the director? If we set a new value in the Designer and recompile it, the default on the director is not reset to that value.

Answer

To control the default row limit for all jobs executed from a particular DataStage Director Client a registry value must be set. This will only effect the current client and it will affect subsequent connections from that specific client. The following steps must be performed from the current DataStage client (this example was done for release 8.1 only. Please note other releases the path names might be slightly different )

  1. Click on Start > Run
  2. Type: regedit
  3. Double click on HKEY_CURRENT_USER
  4. Double click on Software.
  5. Double click Ascential Software.
  6. Double click DataStage Client.
  7. Double click Director.
  8. Right click and select new key string value.
  9. Enter a name of RowLimiter
  10. Right click and select modify.
  11. Set RowLimiter to a value desired. A value of 0 is unlimited.
