Objective
How to remove control from a manually enrolled device:
1. Log in to MaaS360 at login.maas360.com
2. Navigate to Devices>Inventory > Search, click view on the desired device>more, and click Remove Control from the drop-down>click continue. Enter your Password and click confirm. This action relinquishes control of the device from MaaS360, preventing any further actions from being sent to the device via the MaaS360 portal.
After removing control, the expected behavior is for the device status to go inactive. If the status does not update, you will have the option to "hide" the device. Hiding the device makes the device inactive and also releases the device license.
How to remove control for DEP Device:
1. Log in to MaaS360 at login.maas360.com
2. Navigate to Devices>Inventory > Search, click view on the desired device>more and click on wipe.
Note: If the wipe command isn't fully executed, you'll need to perform a manual factory reset on the device by going to Settings > General > Transfer or Reset iPhone > Erase All Content and Settings.
The device is now ready to be enrolled for a new user. If you would like this device to be free of MDM and available for personal use, unassign the device from the MaaS360 MDM Server in the Apple Business Manager Portal.
