How to Pass Variables to a Process in IBM Cognos Command Center
Resolving The Problem
IBM Cognos Command Center does not currently support passing a value to a prompted Variable. Prompted Variables are only available with Processes that are run manually. However, there is a good workaround. The following steps demonstrate how to pass Variables to a Process using a text file.
Step #1 - Create a text file and add 3 records to it.
Step #2 - Set up the following Process Variables:
Step #3 - Create a Task to type the Variables to the console:
Step #4 - Create a Post-Task Action for the Task created in Step#3.
Step #5 - Use the Variables in follow-on Tasks like this batch file:
Step #6 - View the results:
