How to list connected users to the Rational Testdatastore DB2 database

Question & Answer

Question

Can you display which users are connected to an IBM® DB2® database being used with the IBM Rational® TestManager datastore?

Cause

You want to determine which Rational users are currently connected to the DB2 database.

Answer

DB2 can list which applications are connected to the DB2 database by using these steps:

1.Open the DB2 Control Center

2.Right-click the database of interest

3.Choose Applications

The DB2 Control Center now shows a table that looks like this figure:

List Applications

Alternatively you can use the command line functionality:

LIST APPLICATIONS [FOR DATABASE <database alias>] [SHOW DETAIL]

Change Request

Neither DB2 8.2 nor Rational TestManager can compile a list of connected Rational Testdatastore users. A request for enhancement (RFE) to add this functionality exists, and is tracked by it's RFE number RATLC01194002.
