How to join a Webex session using Chrome under Windows 10

Question & Answer

Question

How to join a Webex session using Chrome under Windows 10

Answer

Google Chrome running under Microsoft Windows 10 will not allow you to start or join a Cisco Webex session directly. Attempts to do so can product the message, "Invalid input or system error. Please try again or contact your site administrator."

There is a workaround for this problem, as follows:

  • Download IETabs from the Chrome web store.
  • Install it and you'll see a little icon off to the right of the address bar.
  • In the Webex meeting, right click on the JOIN MEETING hyperlink and copy hyperlink.
  • Open Chrome, paste the meeting hyperlink and press enter. When you see the join webex meeting screen, press the IETAB icon and you should be able to enter the meeting.
Note that this workaround is currently only for the Chrome browser. Firefox and Edge/IE start Webex sessions without any difficulty.
