How to install or update IBM Rational ClearCase Remote Client (CCRC) on Solaris

No repository is available for installing (or updating to) IBM® Rational ClearCase Remote Client V9.0.x on Solaris platforms.


Due to incompatibilities between the Java and Eclipse versions for the ClearCase® Remote Client, no repository or electronic image is available for Solaris. You need the full IBM® Rational ClearCase repository to install the CCRC V9.0.x on Solaris.


  1. If you are updating CCRC, uninstall the installed version; otherwise, proceed to Step 2.
  2. Add the ClearCase® V9.0.x repository to Installation Manager (IM), or start the ClearCase® V9.0.x launchpad.
  3. On the Feature Selection panel, clear all features.
  4. On the Temporary Directory panel, accept the default values.
  5. On the Common Licensing panel, you can leave the field blank.
  6. On the Registry and Mail Servers panel, supply non-null values (values themselves are disregarded by CCRC).
  7. On the ClearCase® Atria Licensing panel, you can leave all inputs blank.
