How To Hide A Status Field Option From User Selection In Maximo

Steps

1. Login to Maximo and Open the Conditional Expression Manager Application
2. Select New Row to create a new Condition.

3. Populate the required fields as show below. You can provide any condition name and description you would like. Set the type field to expression, and as this is just a sample condition we will set the actual expression to '1=0'. Enable the checkbox 'Always Evaluate'

   * The condition evaluates to false, because once it is applied, it will display all available status options besides 'WMATL' as the applied condition is untrue.

   

4. Open the Domains Application and search for 'WOSTATUS'. Select the 'Edit Details' icon to bring up all the synonym domain values being used.

   

5. Filter for the Internal Value being used. In this case we are using the 'WMATL' value. Then select the button 'View/Modify  Conditions'.

6. From the View/Modify Conditions window select 'New Row'

7. Select 'Details Menu' -> 'Select Value' next to the Condition Number field. Filter for and select your previously created condition (HIDEWOSTATUS).

   

8. Once select close all the windows. You can view that the condition was applied by selecting 'View/Modify Conditions' again for the 'WMATL' synonym Domain list.

   

9. Once the condition is applied and all changes have been saved, you will need to logout and back into Maximo for the condition to be applied to your environment.
10. Move to the Work Order Tracking application and create a new record.

11. Under Common Actions select 'Change Status'.  In the 'New Status' dropdown list, 'Waiting on material' will not be available for selection.
