Question & Answer

Question

How to get around putting a USERID and PASSWORD in the MCS.SIGNON Initialization Parameter?

Answer

If you do not want to put a USERID and PASSWORD in the MCS.SIGNON Initialization Parameter, set MCS.SIGNON=(bogus) where the USERID name represented by "bogus" is a name not valid for the security system and is not present in the AUTH file, the DGACXSIG (DMCXSIGN - Stage1) and DGAMGSAF (DMGSAF - Stage2) are used, and the submitter USERID of the C:D z/OS Started Task will be passed to the security system for Connect:Direct Functionality when a modify command is issued to the Connect:Direct Started Task, from the console, to issue Connect:Direct Commands. You must still specify the correct NETMAP in the MCS.SIGNON parameter.

MCS.SIGNON = (SIGNON USERID=(bogus) -
CASE=YES -
NETMAP=$HLQ.CD.NETMAP)
