Problem

After installing hardware-support-tools 8.2.0.2-20140505, running mega_check.pl as root to do a host disk replacement can return this error: "MegaCli Utility is not installed. Please install if you wish to use this tool"

Cause

A possible cause is some required linux packages are not installed.

Resolving The Problem

To install the prerequisite packages, run the following commands:


su - root
cd /opt/nz-hwsupport/install_files/IBM/
rpm -Uvh Lib_Utils-1.00-09.noarch.rpm
rpm -Uvh MegaCli-8.00.48-1.i386.rpm
