Question & Answer
Question
How do you find the Admin User Distinguished Name information in Microsoft Active Directory for IBM Rational Directory Server partition creation?
Cause
There is no predefined Admin User for Rational Directory Server in Microsoft Active Directory.
Admin User does not have to be a ccm_root or administrator in Microsoft Active Directory.
Any appropriate domain users who has the read access right on active directory can be used as a Admin User for the partition creation in Rational Directory Server.
Answer
In Microsoft Active Directory domain controller machine, follow the steps below.
- Open command prompt (click Start > Run > type cmd)
- Type following query and run.
dsquery user > c:\userlist.txt
Note: All Active Directory domain user information is exported to c:\userlist.txt
- Open the userlist.txt file and choose an appropriate user Distinguished Name information as a Admin.
For example:
CN=Guest, CN=Users, DC=domain, DC=local
- Use the Admin User's information of your own choice in Rational Directory Server settings for the partition.
