How do you enable a Microsoft Internet Explorer (IE) browser with IBM Rational Functional Tester (RFT) successfully?
Cause
The IE browser is not configured properly for RFT to be enabled successfully. When you try to enable RFT with an IE browser and run the test for enablement, the test will fail.
Answer
To enable the browser:
- Open up IE and go to Tools > Manage Add-ons.
- Ensure the IERationalEnabler Class is enabled in the radio button below.
- Go to the Settings section and click Enable to enable this class.
The browser should be successfully enabled and the test for enablement will pass.
