How To
Summary
While using ICN Edit Client, more run-time information is required for troubleshooting. How can debug logging be configured?
Objective
To change the logging level of ICN Edit Client.
Steps
1) Open your ICN Edit Client installation directory. By default, on Windows this is: C:\Program Files (x86)\IBM\IBM Content Navigator Edit\EditClient
2) Locate and open the file called Log4net.config in a text editor
3)Change the line
<level value="INFO" /> to <level value="DEBUG" />
4) Save your changes
5) Replicate the issue
6) Locate the logs in the directory specified by the key-value pair <file value="" /> By default, on Windows this is
<file value="${APPDATA}\IBM\Content Navigator Edit\edit-app.log" />
Additional Information
Note that while the ICN Edit Service runs on the server, the ICN Edit Client runs on the client machine, so the logs will be generated on the machine where the client runs.
