How to enable an Application Integration (AI) map to use the generic synonym lists created in the Visual Mapper (VM) (SCI73704)

Application Integration for Gentran:Server for UNIX Releases 6.0 6.0.01 and 6.0.02 do not use generic synonym lists.

Synonym list access is available for Gentran:Server for UNIX Release 6.1 and above.

1.? Check out map
2.? Open Application Integration (Mapper.exe)
3.? Open Map
4.? Right click on the? destination field and choose properties
5.? Click Standard Rule tab
6.? Select Use Code from drop down
7.? If a warning message is received click Yes.? (Warning message:? "Are you sure you want to change the standard rule for this field?")
8.? If the Code List already exist select the code list to use from drop down (refers to source value to be cross referenced)
9.? If the Code List does not exist or the source value is not present in the currently selected Code List? click the? Edit button
10.? Click the? New button
11.? Enter? the source value? in the? 'Value' field
12.? Enter the description (output value)
13.? Click OK
14.? Enter all the values that can be received in the input file for the field and the value that they should be converted to
15.? Once all values are present in the Code List click OK to get back to the main Standard Rule Dialog screen.
16.? Select the? field that the? Code List Description (output value)? should? be stored in
17. ? Click OK
18. ? Link the Input field/element to the output field/element if it is not already present.
19.? Save compile and check in map.
20.? Test the map.

This section? explains how to add a Standard Rule to the AI map that will use generic? synonym tables created with the Visual? Mapper.? When adding the 'Select' Standard Rule the generic synonym list name goes into the 'Please enter the name of the sub-table to use' field.? ? Be sure to link 'Out' on the left? to the field on the right where the synonym value will be mapped to and click OK.
