Question & Answer
Question
How does one identify the version of the DB2 for z/OS SDSNLOAD library?
Answer
We identify the version of the DB2 for z/OS load library via the modules it contains.
For example, if you look at the module "DSNAA" via ISPF browse and then PF11 (left) you will see the "Program ID" (PID). So for DB2 11 for z/OS you will see 5615-DB2 and for DB2 10 for z/OS it's 5605-DB2. Let me include a URL for your reference that identifies the various PIDs for each version/release of DB2 for z/OS as seen listed under Related Information below.
.
Another easy way to determine the version/release of DB2 for z/OS (if you have installed the utilities suite) is to look for the following modules...
DSNUTxxx..so for DB2 11 for z/OS you will find DSNUT111 and for DB2 10 for z/OS DSNUT101 etc.
.
Finally you can also run the DIAGNOSE DISPLAY MEPL utility and the PTFs that are externalized for each module/CSECT will also give you an indication for which version/release of code you are running.
