Question

How do you use SQLIO Disk Subsystem Benchmark Tool (SQLIO)?

Answer
SQLIO is a Microsoft utility that is obtained from:? http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=20163.

Run these commands on the machines to be tested.? Ideally you run the tool with Tealeaf services stopped.? Otherwise you get Tealeaf I/O skewing the results (SQLIO shows you available capacity so you want Tealeaf removed from the results).? Note:? The ?dC is the drive parameter in this case Drive C:.? Point this to where the Canister or Indexes are located.

sqlio.exe -kW -t1 -s30 -b32 -dC

sqlio.exe -kW -t1 -s30 -b64 -dC

sqlio.exe -kW -t1 -s30 -b128 -dC

These commands do reading (the previous 3 tests were writing)

sqlio.exe -kR -t1 -s30 -b32 -dC

sqlio.exe -kR -t1 -s30 -b64 -dC

sqlio.exe -kR -t1 -s30 -b128 -dC
