How do you pad zip code numbers with zeros?

Question & Answer

Question

I have a variable in SPSS which is numeric F5.0 that represents a zip code. I would like it to actually look and act like a zip code in that if it has less than 5 digits then it should be padded with zeros. How can I easily do this?
