Question

How do you disable anonymous access to the Portal Web application?

Answer
If anonymous access is turned off there is significant configuration effort required to enable access only to specific named entities.? To minimize the effort (you do not want to specifically have to enable named access for every user) there are two Active Directory (AD) groups created as part of the pre-install guidelines:
  • TeaLeaf administrators
  • TeaLeaf users groups.
These are? populated with the NT user ids appropriately.? It is acceptable for a userid to be a member of both groups.? They are considered an administrator.
  • Login to RealiTea server and start Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager.
  • Navigate to the Portal Web Application and view the Properties.
  • On the Directory Security tab uncheck Anonymous access check box.
  • Restart IIS.

Each user defined to the Portal Web application needs an NT userID and domain associated with the Portal user.? Users are able to log into the Portal by simply clicking a button and do not have to enter their ID or password when they start the Portal.
