How do I login as a different user when Active Directory SSO is enabled?

Question & Answer

Question

How do I login as a user, that is different to my Windows account, when Single Sign-On is enabled with Active Directory?

Answer

The are two options available.

Option 1 - Open the browser as a different user:

1. Hold 'Shift' and right-click on your browser icon on the Desktop/Windows Start Menu.

2. Select 'Run as different user'.

3. Enter the login credentials of the user you wish to use.

4. Access Cognos with that browser window and you will be logged in as that user.

Option 2 - Using a Gateway alias:

1. Create a new alias for the Cognos Gateway.

2. Ensure this URI is not setup as a 'Trusted Site'.

3. Use this URI to acces Cognos when you wish to specify the user. This is due to IE not passing the credentials on to Cognos as it is not 'trusted'.
