Question & Answer
Question
I am running SPSS. In the Variable View tab, I copied multiple variable labels to paste for other, non-labeled variables (This would be useful when you want to have similar labels (e.g., "test1", "test2", "test3", "test1b", "test2b", "test3b"). In that case, you want to copy (e.g., "test1", "test2", "test3") and modify). I place the cursor on the variable label cell of the first non-labelled variable and select Paste. Only the first label appears. Why is this?
Answer
If you have selected three variables and copied those labels, you will have to highlight the variable labels cells for the same number of variables that you want to paste those labels. Please use the click-and-drag method to select the variables that you want the labels to be pasted into, then select Paste. You should then see all the variable labels pasted
