Determining the version of TM1 Installed
Resolving The Problem
To obtain the exact TM1 Server version that you are running, perform the following steps:
Windows:
- Determine your TM1 Install Directory
- If uncertain of your install directory, go to Windows Services on the machine where TM1 is installed, and right-click the service you use to start/stop TM1. On the General tab, you can find the ‘Path to executable’, which should also be your TM1 Install Directory
- Navigate to your Install Directory:
- Using Windows Explorer, navigate to your install directory. The default install directory is C:\Program Files\IBM\cognos\tm1_64\.
- Find the tm1s.exe or tm1sd.exe
- On a 32bit server, the file will be in the \Install Directory\bin\ folder
- On a 64bit server, the file will be in the \Install Directory\bin64\ folder
- Right click the tm1s.exe or tm1sd.exe file, and select ‘Properties’
- When the ‘Properties’ pane comes up, click the ‘Details’ tab
- Make note of the “Product version’ number within, for example: 10.1.10000.26473
The build number is in the X:\Program Files\ibm\cognos\tm1_64\logs\TM1server.log.
(note the location of the LOGS directory from the tm1s.cfg.)
At server startup there will be an entry like this:
1287 [] INFO 2013-12-16 12:40:09.574 TM1.Server --------------------Session Start--------------------
1287 [] INFO 2013-12-16 12:40:09.574 TM1.Server TM1 Build Number: 10.2.00000.36339
The timestamp in your log, will be relatively newer referencing the last time the TM1 Server instance was started.
