How to delete users from Rational Directory Server

How To

Summary

This article provides steps to delete users from Rational Directory Server (RDS)

Objective

When a user entry in Rational Directory Server is corrupted, DOORS is not able to log in with that user. In that case, that problem user entry must be deleted from Rational Directory Server and resynchronized from the LDAP.

Steps

1) Connect to Rational Directory Server with JXplorer (http://www.jxplorer.org/)

  • select File > Connect to start a new connection

  • enter host and port (default 1389) and select Security Level "User + Password"

  • enter "uid=tdsadmin,ou=people,dc=telelogic,dc=com" as the "User DN" and the tdsadmin password as the password

  • click <OK> and the RDS LDAP tree is displayed

2) Expand "COM", then "TELELOGIC", then "People", then search for the entry for the problem user.

If "sAMAccountName" for the logon attribute is used, the main RDS attribute (CN) has that value.

3) To delete a user, right-click and select Delete.

To make sure that the correct user is being deleted, select the Table Editor view, and check the "tdsCorproateDN" attribute, it should match the users corporate DN.
