This document shows how to create a Virtual Disk through System Setup with PERC series 10 & 11.
Objective
Environment
Steps
Step 1: Enter System Setup
During system start, press the F2 key to enter the System Setup.

Step 2: Device Settings
Click on Device Settings to proceed.

Step 3: Select RAID Controller
Choose the appropriate RAID controller device.

Step 4: Main Menu
Click on Main Menu to access the configuration options.
Step 5: Configuration Management
Select Configuration Management to create a virtual disk.

Step 6: Create Virtual Disk
Click on Create Virtual Disk to begin the virtual disk creation process.

Step 7: Virtual Disk Parameters
The following options are available to define the virtual disk parameters:

Select RAID Level |
Choose the desired RAID level. |

Secure Virtual Disk |
Create a secured virtual disk. (Enabled by default if security key is configured and only SED physical disks are listed.) |

Select Physical Disks From |
Choose from unconfigured capacity or free capacity. |

Select Physical Disks |
Select physical disks for the virtual disk creation. (Displayed if selecting unconfigured capacity.) |

Select Disk Groups |
Select disk groups for the virtual disk creation. (Displayed if selecting free capacity.) |

Configure Virtual Disk Parameters |
Set virtual disk parameters. |
Step 8: Select Physical Disks
Click on Select Physical Disks to choose the drives.

Step 9: Apply Changes
Choose the appropriate drives and click Apply Changes.

Step 10: Confirm Action
Click OK to confirm the action was performed successfully.

Step 11: Name Virtual Disk
Name the new virtual disk and choose the appropriate settings.
Click Create Virtual Disk to complete the process.

Step 12: Confirm Creation
Click Yes to confirm the virtual disk creation.

Step 13: Virtual Disk Created
The virtual disk is created successfully. Click OK to complete the process.
