How to create a Reservation on TechZone
Troubleshooting and Additional Information
Selecting a Reservation
To create a reservation, please navigate to the TechZone site at https://techzone.ibm.com/home.
On the Home Page, you can see the option for the Certified Base Images. You can select “Explore collection” to see the environments available there.
Note: The TechZone team recommendation is to always start with the Certified Base Images. These have been rigorously tested and are regularly maintained, updated, and supported by the TechZone team.
If you are look for an environment not listed in the Certified Images, please utilize the Unified Search feature to find more specific environments. More on this can be found here.
Once in the Certified Base Images, select the category on the left that contains the environment you’re looking for. Some collections also just say “Environments.”
In this example, “Base OpenShift” has been selected.
Once the required environment has been found, hover over the bottom of the reservation card. You will see it turn blue and have an option that says “Reserve it”

Here, the “OpenShift Cluster on IBM Cloud OCPv (Pre-warmed)” environment has been selected.
Requesting the Reservation
To create a single reservation to be used now, please select “Reserve an environment.”

From there, please select a purpose, include any purpose descriptions, and the geography closest to your physical region. More on purpose selection can be found here.
If there are additional requirements or information you would like to change or fill out, please do so.
Once everything is ready, in the bottom right corner, please check to agree to the Terms and Conditions and select “Submit”

Troubleshooting and Additional Information
If you select the terms and conditions and the “Submit” button is not available, please make sure that all information has been filled out.
Missing information often is highlighted in red.
The grayed out submit button can also appear if a purpose that is not allowed is selected. Specific minimum requirements can often be found on the reservation card (as seen in the second image) and you can also see the runbook on reservation duration policies here.
Additionally, all environments also send email notifications about provisioning starting and when it is ready to be used, and the environment link is provided it in. To also reach your reservation directly, you can also use the link https://techzone.ibm.com/my/reservations.
To see more on how to find your reservation, please see the runbook “How to find your reservation ID”
