This document describes how to create a hscpe user ID on HMC and how to assign/modify the user attributes.

Steps
Use the following steps to create/modify a hscpe user ID on HMC.
Create/modify hscpe user via command line
Determining whether the hscpe user ID exists and what role has been assigned to it.
lshmcusr --filter "names=hscpe"
lshmcusr --filter "names=hscpe"
If the hscpe user ID exists, you should see output similar to the following:
name=hscpe,taskrole=hmcpe,description=Service,pwage=99999,resourcerole=
name=hscpe,taskrole=hmcpe,description=Service,pwage=99999,resourcerole=
If the hscpe user ID does not exist, you should receive the message No results were found.
1. If the user exists, and you would like to change the password:
chhmcusr -u hscpe -t passwd
You will be prompted to enter a new password for the user.
chhmcusr -u hscpe -t passwd
You will be prompted to enter a new password for the user.
Example password change:
chhmcusr -u hscpe -t passwd -v abc1234
chhmcusr -u hscpe -t passwd -v abc1234
2. If the user does not exist, you can create it using the following steps:
mkhmcusr -u hscpe -a hmcpe -d IBM Service
After running the above command, you will be prompted to enter a password for the new user.
NOTE:
If webui and ssh access are needed, make sure the output from lshmcusr --filter "names=hscpe" shows the following attributes set to =1
remote_webui_access=1,remote_ssh_access=1
If webui and ssh access are needed, make sure the output from lshmcusr --filter "names=hscpe" shows the following attributes set to =1
remote_webui_access=1,remote_ssh_access=1
Create/modify hscpe user via GUI
To add a user profile via GUI, complete the following steps:
1. In the navigation area, click User management > User profiles.
2. In the work pane, complete the following steps:
To create a new user profile, click Create. The Create profile window opens. Enter the necessary information and click Create.
From the Create profile, Copy profile, and Edit profile windows, you can modify the following attributes:
• User ID: Enter the user ID for the user profile that you are creating or managing. The username must start with an alphabetic character and consist of 1 to 32 characters.
• Description: Enter a meaningful description for your own records.
• Password: Enter the password for the user ID.
• Confirm password: Enter the password again for verification.
• Password expiration in days: Specify the number of days a password is valid before it expires.
• Session settings: Specify the session properties for the user profile.
• Allow remote access via the web: Select this option to enable remote web server access for the user profile.
• Allow remote access via the SSH: Select this option to enable remote web server access through SSH for the user profile.
• Task roles: Displays the task roles that are currently available. Select one task role for this user ID. For the hscpe user, make sure to assign taskrole hmcpe.
• Resource roles: Displays the managed resource roles that are currently available. Select one or more managed resource roles to define access permissions for this user ID.
To delete the user profile, select the user ID, and click Delete. The Delete user profile window opens. A confirmation message is displayed for the deletion of selected user profile. Click Delete to delete the user profile.
