How to create an FTP mailbox for use with your Sterling Commerce FTP mailslot:
Your installation should have a script in the Gensrvnt/commscr/samples folder called Commerce Centre via FTP, which you will use with the steps below. You will also find this setup in the communications user's guide. See attached.
1. From Gentran Server Desktop choose Tools-> Mailbox.
2. Select Server name
3. Select Gateways
4. Right Click on Gentran Communications and choose properties
5. Ensure that the FTP Device is selected (If not check the device and Stop and Start the service)
6. Select Pools and ensure that a FTP Pool is created and a Device is selected. If both have been created move to step 7. Otherwise perform the following:
a. Select New
b. Select FTP as the Pool Device
c. Select Remote Only as the Pool Type
d. Type FTP as the Pool Name
e. Select OK
f. Select Add
g. Select the Device
h. Select OK
i. Select Apply
j. Stop and Start the Communications Service.
7. Select OK
8. Right click on Mailboxes and click create
9. Type a descriptive name ("Sterling Commerce FTP")
10. Select Next and Next
11. Select Use this mailbox as a gateway
12. Select Gentran Communications
13. Click Next and Finish
14. Select FTP as the Transport.
15. Select Properties
16. Select FTP as the Pool Device
17. Type sciftp.commerce.stercomm.com as the Host Name
18. Type <Your Sterling mailbox> as the Host User Id
19. Type <your SIB password> as the Host Password
20. Select check mark under Passive Transfers
21. Select OK
22. Select Script
23. Select New
24. Type a descriptive name ("Sterling Commerce FTP")
25. Select File -> Import
26. Select the FTP script sent to you (Commerce Centre via FTP-- in the samples folder)
27. Then select File->Compile
28. Select Close and then Yes to save
29. Select File>Exit
30. Select the script name
31. Choose Defaults
32. Type Application/EDI in both Content Type boxes
33. Select Edit Recipients
34. Choose Gentran Application and select To
35. Select OK, OK, OK, and OK
