Summary
With the phase-out of single-factor authentication, users must now use a multi-factor authentication (MFA) method to connect to Snowflake. Snowflake supports key pair authentication as a more secure alternative to basic authentication. This method requires at least a 2048-bit RSA key pair, which can be generated using OpenSSL in the Privacy Enhanced Mail (PEM) format. The public key is then associated with the Snowflake user who will authenticate through the client. This document provides instructions for connecting using the key pair method.
