Question
The default format for exported i2 iBase data using an Export Spec is .txt; can I change it so that it saves in a MS Excel format?
Answer
Yes, it is possible to set up an i2 iBase Export Spec to export in a MS Excel format such as .xlsx.
Here's how to do it:
1) On Step 2 of the Export Spec, click on the small button alongside the Export File Name box.

2) The Export File dialog opens, change Save as type to All Files.
3) In the File name box, manually change the file extension to xlsx.

4) Click the Save button to return to the import spec where you will see your file name is now set to save in a MS Excel format.

5) Continue through the Export Spec and run the export.
6) Navigate to your xlsx file and double click to open it in MS Excel.
