How To
Summary
Attachments can be configured in Manage by using different ways. For Manage the most used option is S3 solution.
But you can also use PVC feature assigned to Manage to host your attachments. This is what the next steps will describe.
Steps
1) You need to create the PVC that will be used on doclinks configuration. Check this link for this task: How to create a Persistent Volume Claim(PVC) on Manage
2) Log in to Manage.
3) Go To => System Configuration => Platform Configuration => System Properties
4) Check that the following Property Names have the listed values. If not, update them as follows:
Note: The paths on Linux are case-sensitive. The operating system executed by the Manage pods is always Linux. The path /doclinks is the same path used on PVC creation, both must match.
- Property Name: mxe.doclink.doctypes.defpath
- Value: /doclinks
- Property Name: mxe.doclink.path01
- Value: /doclinks=https://host/doclinks
- Property Name: mxe.doclink.doctypes.topLevelPaths
- Value: /doclinks
- Property Name: mxe.doclink.securedAttachment
- Value: true
- Property Name: mxe.report.AttachDoc.validateURL
- Value: 0
5) Restart the server bundle pod.
If you have multiple server bundles, restart all of them.
6) Go To any application, which has attachments ==> Select Action ==> Attachment Library/Folders ==> Manage folders and set or check the following paths:
Document Folder | File Path |
---|---|
Attachments | /doclinks/Attachments |
CAD | /doclinks/CAD |
Diagrams | /doclinks/Diagrams |
Images | /doclinks/Images |
Additional Information
All files are created on Liberty/ bundle pod that uses the path configured, as in this example where I am using a single all bundle pod:
