How to configure the default namespace while still have the option to login to the other namespace from other web session ?

How To

Summary

Two Namespace NS1 and NS2 have been configured against two Authentication Provider (LDAP and Active Directory)
Cognos Analytics Gateway is not configured.
Is it possible to have the NS1 namespace automatically selected when Users access Cognos portal and still users are able to login to NS2 namespace from the other web session ?

Steps

1) Open Cognos Configuration (Right click and choose 'Run As Administrator')

2) Expand security-> Authentication and click on the Advanced Properties section on the right hand side.

3) Under name add defaultNamespace and under Value put Namespace ID for NS1 namespace

Say , the Namespace ID for NS1 is NS_1 then the entry should look like :

 defaultNamespace      NS_1

 4) Click ok , save the configuration and restart the service

 5) Provide the NS2 namespace  users with the following url  to access Cognos portal :

  http://<FQDN or IP of Cognos Analytics machine>:<port_number>/bi/?CAMNamespace= <Namespace ID for NS2 namespace>

Say , Namespace ID for NS2 namespace is NS_2  , FQDN is COGNOS and port number is 9300 then the url will look like :

  http://COGNOS:9300/bi/?CAMNamespace=NS_2

Note: Namespace ID is case-sensitive.
