How to compress Case Analyzer database when Content Platform Engine server is running on AIX or Linux

Product Documentation

Abstract

Use Case Analyzer database compression functionality from remote windows server connecting to the Content Platform Engine server running on AIX or Linux

Content

For Content Platform Engine servers running on AIX or Linux environments, Case Analyzer database compression is not supported. However, to compress the Case Analyzer database in such environments, the following procedure can be used:

1. On a Windows machine, install Content Platform Engine server of the same version. Note that deployment of the server is not required.
2. Install Case Foundation.
3. Ensure that Microsoft SQL client files are installed. Case Analyzer compression wizard uses the Bulk Copy Program (BCP) utility of Microsoft SQL internally.
4. Update the 'RemoteServerUrl' property of WcmApiConfig.properties file to point to the Content Engine URL of the remote Content Platform Engine server on an AIX or Linux environment.

Example: RemoteServerUrl = http://server:port/wsi/FNCEWS40MTOM/

Note: WcmApiConfig.properties file is located at <Content Platform Engine install directory>/tools/PE/config

5. Run the Case Analyzer Compression wizard using the cacompression.bat file.

Important: Refer to IBM Knowledge Center documentation for general instructions on running Case Analyzer compression wizard.
