Summary
Hardware Validation Tool Survey collects the following information:
a) Machine's HW configuration.
b) Installed devices
c) Installed Code levels
This output WILL NOT save any logs of the machine (IML log – ILO log – Smart array logs…); these should be obtained separately.
Objective
The goal of this topic is to show how to capture the Survey using the embedded “Intelligent Provisioning “function on Servers and Blades Gen10 and up (ILO5/ILO6).
Steps
1. Connect a USB key to the machine to save the Survey output.
2. Power on the machine and press “F10” during the post.
3. Select “Intelligent Provisioning”.
4. select “Perform Maintenance”.
5.Select Hardware validation tool.
The discovery process starts, it might take several minutes.
At the end of the discovery process, you have three tabs: Survey, Test and Export.
By default, the Survey tab is displayed. You can select the section you need to check (Health, Processor, Memory, Device Inventory, Network, Graphics, Storage, Manageability, Power, Thermal, Security, and Firmware).

6. To Save the survey, click Export and then choose the device where file will be saved. Then click Save Files.
A new folder is created on USB key (folder style yyyy-mm-dd_hh_mm-hvt_flis ) and file
stored in. Survey file is saved in xml format.

7. Click exit for exiting.
