Question
I have a .vlx file which was created from an outside source, such as Thomson-Reuter's CLEAR. How can I open this file using i2 Analyst's Notebook?
When I try to open the file directly using Analyst's Notebook, "Unexpected file format" is thrown.
Answer
First, confirm that you have installed the Online iLink feature for i2 Analyst's Notebook, as described in this technote.
Then, under "Home", click "Connect" and then select Online iLink-->Import iXv Visualization.
When prompted for a file, navigate to your .vlx file and click open. It may take some time, depending on the size of your data, but it will open the .vlx file into your current chart.
If you still have difficulties, review your Online iLink Configuration settings.
