How do you borrow IBM Rational Rhapsody licenses from a client machine?

Cause

You would like to use Rational Rhapsody offline when not connected to network

Answer

Licenses can be borrowed from the client machine using the License Borrower utility which is installed with Rhapsody. By default, it gets installed into this location C:\Program Files\Common Files\IBM\Rational\Shared

Find below the steps to borrow Rhapsody Licenses.

Borrowing Rhapsody Licenses from Client Machine

  1. Once the client is connected to the license server, launch the Rational License server Borrow_license utility:



  2. This will list you all the licenses packages from the license servers. Select the ones you want to borrow and click on ‘Next’:



  3. Select the expiry date for the features to be borrowed:



  4. Finish the process and now you are good to use the borrowed features without a connection to the license server. You can get the list of borrowed features in the License borrow feature window:
