Problem

This document describes how to assign drives to a reserved storage pool.

Resolving The Problem

This document describes how to assign drives to a reserved storage pool for use with suspend/resume operations.

1. On the target server, expand Configuration > Virtual Resources, and click Reserved Storage Device Pool Management.

2. Edit pool.
Click Edit pool to add devices to the pool:

3. Select the VIOS partition(s).
Select the VIOS partition(s) to associate with the reserved storage device pool, and click Select Device(s):

4. Refresh.
Modify the filter as desired, then click Refresh to execute the query.
Note: The HMC does not perform an initial query to locate the devices. To see any eligible disks, the user must click Refresh to perform a query.

5. Add the device.
a. Select the disk to add to the pool.
b. Check the box to toggle device selection to Manual if desired.
c. Click OK

6. Click OK to save changes:
