How to Add or Delete a User in the Admin Console

Summary

This document shows the process of how to add or delete a user from the External Admin Console

Environment

Please Note: to be able to access the Admin Console you need to be assigned as "User Admin" in the account

Steps

First AccessDashaboad Visualization (https://environmentalintelligencesuite.ibm.com/) using your username and password

After logging in, go to the blue "Account" button >> select the "Admin Console" option that will open a new Window.

How to Add a User in the Admin Console
  1. Select the blue Add New button.

  2. This will bring up an additional window to walk you through the step-by-step process of adding a user. 
  3. In the Profile section, you will enter the first and last name.

  4. In the Sign In section, you will enter the email address as the username.  Most users will be using a Local Sign-in (which is a username and password). image-20240618111420-4
    1. Please Note: Do not select the send email option, as the wrong email will be sent.
  5. If using a Federated/SSO, you need to select the correct option.
  6. In Access, you set up the different Roles the user could have
    1. Please Note: If you create the user as Read Only, you will need to log into EIS as a Dashboard Creator for that customer and assign the user to the correct Dashboard.  Otherwise, they will not see anything when they log inimage-20240618112147-5
  7. The final step is then to review the selection made. image-20240618112335-6
  8. After you click Save, you should have a Success message.  You will also then be able to search for the user.

To Delete a User in the Admin Console
  1. Hover over the triple-dot option for the user on the right of the list to get access to the Delete button.  You will then be asked to confirm.  Finally, you will receive a Success message.
