Question

How to add CRLF to a file that only has LF as record delimiter.

Cause

Unix files only have LF.

When they are zipped, ftp will not translate the delimiter to CRLF.

Answer

Options:

         
  • Unzip the file and send it ASCII.
    •      
  • Use UNIX utilities like sed to add CRLF before zipping up the file.
    •      
  • Write a C program to write a CRLF as the delimiter before zipping the file up.
