How to access the OSI files (OS implementation files) in Rational Statemate

Question & Answer

Question

How can you access the OS implementation files from the OSDT (OS Definition Tool) and from Rational Statemate when the default path of the OSI files has changed (the default path is "Statemate\\etc\CTD")?

Cause

You have copied the OSI files p.e. to a network location to share it in the project.

Answer

You can use two different environment variables to access the OSI files from the OSDT:

  • To access from OSDT: AMC_OSDT_CTD_PATH - Use this variable when working with the OSDT in order to direct the OSDT to the desired path. As the OSDT is invoked directly, you need either to set that variable in the Control Panel > System > Advanced > Environment Variables, or invoke the OSDT from a batch file defining that variable.
  • To access from Rational Statemate and Statemate applications: STM_CTD_DIR - Use this variable to define the desired CTD path when working with STM or external tools like Dataport applications. That variable might be set from either the run_stmm.bat file or the general system settings as detailed above.

Sample:
The OSI files are located in the CTD folder and consist of MyOSI.def file and MyOSI subfolder
SET STM_CTD_DIR=F:\Network\Statemate\CTD
