What is the character limit for the hostname on an Enterprise Scanner (ES) appliance?
Answer
The ES appliance requires that hostnames be 63 characters or fewer in length.
If the hostname of the appliance is 64 characters or greater, either of the following errors may occur:
Applying Network Settings: A response was not received from the sensor within the timeout period. Check to ensure that the sensor is active and try the request again [ID=0xc74a001e]
