Note: 2 GHz or faster

Supported versions of IBM Spectrum Protect Windows backup-archive client and API Client:
  • IBM Spectrum Protect backup-archive and API client 8.1.0 - 8.1.2:
    The IBM Spectrum Protect Windows backup-archive client and API client must be at the same fix pack level as the IBM Spectrum Protect HSM for Windows client.
  • IBM Spectrum Protect backup-archive and API client 8.1.4 - 8.1.10:
    The IBM Spectrum Protect Windows backup-archive client and API client must be at the same or at a greater fix pack level as the IBM Spectrum Protect HSM for Windows client. Minimum IBM Spectrum Protect HSM for Windows client 8.1.2.
  • IBM Spectrum Protect backup-archive and API client 8.1.11 and later:
    The IBM Spectrum Protect Windows backup-archive client and API client can be at different fix pack level than the IBM Spectrum Protect HSM for Windows client. Minimum IBM Spectrum Protect HSM for Windows client 8.1.2.
File system New Technology file system (NTFS) and Resilient file system (ReFS)

The IBM Spectrum Protect HSM for Windows client supports installations on a Microsoft cluster (MSCS) environment.
The IBM Spectrum Protect HSM for Windows client provides support for Windows Storage Server Editions for functionality that is also available and supported by IBM Spectrum Protect HSM for Windows on the Windows Server Editions.
Beginning with IBM Spectrum Protect HSM for Windows client 8.1.9, OpenSSL version 1.1.1 is required to enable IBM Spectrum Protect HSM for Windows REST API and HSMNET service.


 

Release 7.1

Tip: The product now known as IBM Spectrum Protect was named IBM Tivoli Storage Manager in releases earlier than 7.1.3. To learn more about the rebranding transition, see Tivoli Storage Manager branding transition to IBM Spectrum Protect.

Note: IBM Spectrum Protect and IBM Tivoli Storage Manager 7.1 reached end of support (EOS) at 31 December 2021. See IBM Spectrum Protect/Tivoli Storage Manager 7.1 products End of Support 31 December 2021.

Stub files that are created with 7.1.4 or later versions are not compatible with versions lower than 7.1.4. Versions lower than fix pack 7.1.4 of the IBM Spectrum Protect HSM for Windows client cannot recall files from stubs that are created with 7.1.4 or later versions.

Supported versions of IBM Spectrum Protect Windows backup-archive client and API Client:
  • The IBM Spectrum Protect backup-archive client and API client must be at the same fix pack level as the IBM Spectrum Protect HSM for Windows client.
    The backup-archive client and API client must be at the same interim fix level as the IBM Spectrum Protect HSM for Windows client or at a later interim fix level. For example, the backup-archive client and API and the BM Spectrum Protect HSM for Windows client must all be at fix pack level 7.1.6. If the IBM Spectrum Protect HSM for Windows client is at interim fix level 7.1.6.x, the backup-archive client and API must be at interim fix level 7.1.6.y, where y is equal to or higher than x.
