Symptom
After power on, the server hangs at checkpoint A9 during system bootup.
Affected configuration
The system is an an IBM eServer xSeries 345 (Type 8670), any model.
Solution
Make sure the PCI Riser Card Assembly is properly seated on the system board connector. Ensure the riser card retention latch is closed or thumb screws are properly tightened (model dependent). When the riser card is not installed or not properly seated, the system will hang at checkpoint A9.
