Environment
- Software: KEPServerEX (latest available version)
- Source: Official PTC (Kepware) website
- Operating System: Windows (Windows 10/11 or Windows Server)

Steps
Download Steps
- Go to the official Kepware page:
- Open your browser and visit ptc.com
- Navigate to: Products → Kepware → KEPServerEX
- Locate the download option:
- Click on “Free Trial” or “Download KEPServerEX”
- Sign in / Register:
- You’ll be prompted to log in with a PTC account
- If you don’t have one, create a new account (free)
- Download the installer:
- After login, select the latest version of KEPServerEX
- Download the installation package (usually a
.exefile)
Installation Steps
- Run the downloaded installer
- Follow the setup wizard:
- Accept license agreement
- Choose installation location
- Select required components (default is fine for OPC testing)
- Complete installation and launch KEPServerEX
Additional Information
Tips:
- The free trial typically runs for 2 hours per session before requiring a restart
- Make sure firewall settings allow OPC communication
Note: KEPServerEX is a widely used OPC diagnostic utility for connecting to OPC UA/DA servers, browsing the address space, and monitoring real-time data values along with associated quality codes and timestamps. Although any compatible third-party OPC client may be utilized, this tool is commonly installed and used by clients on their systems.
