Graphical Scheduling Freeze On Update

Troubleshooting

Problem

Graphical Schedule freezes whilst the Gantt chart is refreshing / updating.

Symptom

STEPS:

1. Go to Graphical Scheduling application.

2. Bring up a schedule. Start date is Sept 13 and End date is Sept 27
There are multiple shifts selected for the calendar.

3. The work query brings up about 700 work orders.
Below is the query:
((status = 'SCHED' or status = 'WSCHED' or status = 'INPRG') and
(woclass = 'WORKORDER' or woclass = 'ACTIVITY') and historyflag = 0 and
persongroup like '%MECH41%' and istask = 0 and siteid = 'BEDFORD' and
(worktype = 'AD' or worktype = 'CI' or worktype = 'CM' or worktype =
'NP' or worktype = 'PDM' or worktype = 'PJ' or worktype = 'PM' or
worktype = 'SF'))

4. Click the “Gantt View” tab. The Gantt chart takes a few minutes
to render.

5. Click the Calendar icon with tooltip that says ‘Select date, and jump to that date in the schedule" icon (i.e. the one in the middle of the three calendar icons). The calendar shows the month of August (instead of September).
NOTE: Since the schedule was for September, the calendar and Gantt chart are suppose to show the days in September, and not August.

7. Select any date displayed in the calendar e.g. August 30th

8. A message shows up “Updating Gantt…” on the Gantt View. It hangs forever.

9. Log in as another user and repeat the same steps for the same schedule, no hang this time.
